When Chelsea Football Club toured Australia in 1965, they brought out the likes of Peter Bonetti, Peter Osgood and a young Terry Venables. Chelsea would dominate the tour on the scoreboards but for two matches against Australia's best, which ended in draws.

The Blues' manager, Tommy Docherty, would enjoy a brief stint in Australia in charge of Sydney Olympic and South Melbourne in the early eighties.
